The number of obstetricians and gynecologists, suffering serious insufficiency in number. The total number of obstetricians and gynecologists believed to be associated with deliveries, based on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's data, was divided by the female population of each prefecture.

From the results, there seems to be little regional trend. The distribution is rather similar to that of pediatricians in the point that the concentration is high in the Sanin region and the central part of Honshu. High concentration in Tokyo and low concentration in surrounding areas is the same phenomenon seen in the number of physicians and the number of pediatricians, and this donut phenomenon seems to be developing around Tokyo.

The correlative ranking shows high correlation with Number of Physicians, Practicing Physicians, pediatricians and medical schools. It can be said that there are many physicians where there are many medical schools and many obstetricians and gynecologists where there are many physicians.
